ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ:ଜନ୍ମତିଥି ୮/ପ୍ରେସ ବିଜ୍ଞପ୍ତି

କଟକ, ବେଙ୍ଗାଳୁରୁ ଓ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀ: ୨୯ ଜାନୁଆରୀ ୨୦୧୧, ରବିବାର ଦିନ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ଅଷ୍ଟମ ଜନ୍ମତିଥି କଟକ, ବେଙ୍ଗାଳୁରୁ ଓ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀଠାରେ ପାଳିତ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି । ଏହିପରି ଏକ ଉତ୍ସବ ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ତଥା ସମଗ୍ର ଭାରତରେ ହୋଇଥିଲା । ଏଥିରେ ନାନା ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଉଇକିଆଳି (ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାରେ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ସମ୍ପାଦନା କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକ)ମାନେ ଏହି ଉତ୍ସବରେ ଯୋଗ ଦେଇଥିଲେ ।

ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ (or.wikipedia.org) ଏକ ଅନଲାଇନ ଜ୍ଞାନକୋଷ ବା ଏନସାଇକ୍ଳୋପେଡ଼ିଆ ଯାହାକି ଜଗତର ସବୁଠାରୁ ବଡ଼ ଅନଲାଇନ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଜ୍ଞାନକୋଷ । ଓଡ଼ିଆ ବ୍ୟତୀତ ଅନ୍ୟ ୨୦ ଟି ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାରେ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀର ୨୭୫ ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଭାଷାରେ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ରହିଛି । ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ସବୁଯାକ ତଥ୍ୟର ସମ୍ପାଦନ ପାଇଁ ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାସେବୀମାନେ ଏକ ସାମୁହିକ ସଙ୍ଘ ତିଆରି କରି ଏଥିରେ ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗମାନ ସମ୍ପାଦନା କରିଥାନ୍ତି । ଇଣ୍ଟରନେଟକୁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରି କୌଣସି ବି ଲୋକ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆରେ ଲେଖାଟିଏ ଲେଖିପାରିବ ଓ ଏହି ସଙ୍ଘରେ ଯୋଗ ଦେଇପାରିବ ।

୨୦୦୨ରେ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ପ୍ରଥମେ ବାହାର କରିଥିବା ୪ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷା ମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅନ୍ୟତମ ଯାହାର ପ୍ରଥମ ସମ୍ପାଦନା ୨୦୦୪ ମସିହାରେ ହେଇଥିଲା । ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଏହି ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୧୦୦ ଗୋଟି ନାନାଦି ଜାଗତିକ ବିଷୟରେ ଲେଖାମାନ ରହିଛି । ଏହା ଛଡା ଏଥିରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷା, ଚଳଣି, କଳା ତଥା ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ଅନେକ ଲେଖା ରହିଛି । ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ କୁ http://or.wikipedia.org ଠାରେ ପଢ଼ିପାରିବ । ଏଥିରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅଭିଧାନ ଅଛି ଯାହା http://or.wikitionary.orgରେ ଉପଲବ୍ଧ ଯହିଁରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସମେତ ବାକି ଭାଷାମାନଙ୍କରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଶବ୍ଦର ଅର୍ଥ ଖୋଜାଯାଇପାରିବ । ଯଦିଓ ବହୁତ ଲୋକ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ କୁ ନାନାଦି ଶିକ୍ଷାସାଧନ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁଛନ୍ତି କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନେ ସେଥିରେ ଲେଖାସବୁ କେମିତି ଲେଖାହୁଏ ତାହା ଉପରେ ଗୁରୁତ୍ଵ ଦିଅନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ । ବର୍ତମାନ ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାସେବୀ ଉଇକିଆଳିମାନେ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଖେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁଏହାର ସମ୍ପାଦନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉତ୍ସାହିତ କରୁଛନ୍ତି । ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଖୋଲାରେ ବିତରଣ କରାଯାଇପାରିବ, ବଦଳାଯାଇପାରିବ ଓ ବାଣିଜ୍ୟିକି ତଥା ଅଣବାଣିଜ୍ୟିକ ଉପଯୋଗ ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଇପାରିବ ତଥା । ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ପରିଚାଳନାକାରୀ ସଙ୍ଗଠନ ଉଇକିମିଡ଼ିଆ ଫାଉଣ୍ଡେସନ ଏକ ଅଣ-ଲାଭକରି ସଙ୍ଗଠନ ହୋଇଥିବାରୁ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ନିଜକୁ ସବୁବେଳେ ବିଜ୍ଞାପନମୁକ୍ତ ରଖିଛି । ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ସମସ୍ତ ଲେଖା, ସବୁ ତରଫରୁ ନିରପେକ୍ଷ ତଥା ତଥ୍ୟର ବହୁମୁଖୀ ବିଚାର ବିବରଣିରେ ଭରା । ଏକାଧିକ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଦେଇ ସମ୍ପାଦିତ ହେଉଥିବାରୁ ଏହାର ଅନାବଶ୍ୟକ ତଥ୍ୟ ଗୁଡିକ ଛାଣି ହେଇଯାଏ ଓ ଏହା ନିଜକୁ ନିରପେକ୍ଷ ରଖିଥାଏ ।

ଏବେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆକୁ ଫେରିବା, ଏହା ଦୀର୍ଘ ୭ ବର୍ଷ ଧରି ଅଚଳ ହୋଇପଡିଥିଲା ଯାହା କିଛି ଓଡ଼ିଆଙ୍କପ୍ରୟାସ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପ୍ରଥମ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକି ମେଳଣ ବେଙ୍ଗାଲୁରୁରେ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୋଇ କ୍ରମେ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ଵର, କଟକ, ବାଲେଶ୍ଵର ଓ ନିକଟରେ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀ ଠାରେ ନିୟମିତ କର୍ମଶାଳା ଓ ମେଳଣ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକାଭିମୁଖୀ ହେଉଛି । ୧୫ଟି ସଫଳ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ସମ୍ପାଦନ କର୍ମଶାଳା ଆୟୋଜିତ ହେଲା ପରେ ଏବେ ସାଧାରଣ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଲୋକେ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆର ପରିସରକୁ ଆସୁଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସ୍ଵଇଚ୍ଛାରେ ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗଗ ଲେଖିବା ଓ ସମ୍ପାଦନା କରିବା ସହ ଆବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ କାରିଗରି କାମ କରୁଛନ୍ତି । ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ଖାଲି ଆମ ଭାଷା, କଳା ଓ ଚଳଣିର ନଥିକରଣ ନୁହେଁ ବରଂ ଏହା ଏକ ମାଧ୍ୟମ ଭାବରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷା ପାଇଁ କିଛି କରିବାକୁ ନିଜ ମାତୃଭାଷାଠୁ ଦୂରେଇ ଯାଉଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଆଗଭର କରାଉଛି । ଆହୁରି ମଧ୍ୟ ସାରା ଜଗତର ଅନେକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଫୋଟୋଦାନ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଯୋଗଦାନ କରି ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆକୁ ୭୩୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ କପିରାଇଟବିହୀନ ଛବି ଦାନ କରିଛନ୍ତି । କଟକ, ବେଙ୍ଗାଳୁରୁ ଓ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀଠାରେ ପ୍ରତି ମାସ ଆୟୋଜିତ କର୍ମଶାଳାରେ ଭାଗନେଇ ଉଇକିପିଡ଼ିଆ ବିଷୟରେ ଅଧିକ ଜାଣିବା ସହ ଏଥିରେ ସମ୍ପାଦନା କରିବା ଶିଖିପାରିବେ ଓ ଏହାକୁ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ବିକାଶ କରି ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାରେ ନାନାଦି ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁର ବିଶଦ ନଥିକରଣରେ ଭାଗ ନେଇ ପାରିବେ ।

Cuttack, Bangalore and Delhi: Odia Wikipedia has celebrated its 8th birthday on 29 January. Wikipedians have gathered in Cuttack, Bangalore and Delhi in 3 separate events to celebrate this occasion.

Odia Wikipedia (http://or.wikipedia.org) is an online encyclopedia and the largest available online encyclopaedia in Odia. Apart from Odia there are 20 Indian language Wikipedias and globally 275+ Wikipedias exist in all different languages. Contrary to common myths about Wikipedia being edited by some paid staff, it is an open platform for collaborative encyclopedic content development. WIkipedia articles can be written by anyone and everyone having access to internet.

Odia Wikipedia, which was created in 2002 and the first ever edit happened in 2004, is one of the 4 first Indian language Wikipedias. It has 2100+ encyclopaedic articles in it about various topics in different subjects. Furthermore, it has a lot many articles related to Odia language, culture, art and other Odisha related topics. Odia Wikipedia can be accessed at http://or.wikipedia.org. There is also an Odia dictionary called Wiktionary available at http://or.wiktionary.org. Though many people refer Wikipedia for various academic purpose they never understand how the articles are written. The volunteers who edit Wikipedia (known as Wikipedians) reach out to people like them who can take voluntary participation to edit Wikipedia and create a knowledge base. The content in Wikipedia are free to share, distribute and use for commercial and noncommercial usage. Unlike any other website Wikimedia Foundation, the non profit foundation which hosts Wikipedia doesn't earn money and keep the Wikipedia free of advertisement. And also, the content in Wikipedia are completely unbiased with neutral point of view. Being edited by people of multiple view points the biased and unnecessary information always get filtered and that is how Wikipedia is gaining popularity across the world to get relevant, unbiased information.

Odia Wikipedia was quite inactive for about 7 long years. By the effort of few Odias the first Odia Wikipedia meetup was organized in Bengaluru which engendered successive outreach sessions in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Baleswar and Delhi. By the effect of some odd 12 Wikipedia editing workshops and meet ups, many people are being brought into the Odia Wikipedia movement. Odia Wikipedia is not only documenting topics of our art, culture, language and heritage in Odia language, but it is also creating an awareness and encouraging people to contribute in Odia where most people are moving away from the language. Moreover, Odias across the world have uploaded more than 700 Copyright free images of Odisha and other places by conducting photo donation events. People interested to learn more about Wikipedia and how they can make use of it are all invited to the Wikipedia workshops, organized by the wikipedians ate Cuttack, Delhi and Bengaluru every month.
