ଆଲୋପ୍ୟୁରିନଲ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Allopurinol, ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ଜାଇଲୋପ୍ରିମ/Zyloprim) ଏକ ଔଷଧ ଯାହା ଅଧିକ ରକ୍ତ ୟୁରିକ ଏସିଡ ଥିଲେ କମେଇବାକୁ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧] ବିଶେଷତଃ ଗାଉଟ୍‌ ରୋଗ ଚିକିତ୍ସାରେ, ବୃକ୍‌କ ପଥର ରୋଗର ପ୍ରତିଷେଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ କେମୋଥେରାପି (chemotherapy) ଜନିତ ଅଧିକ ରକ୍ତ ୟୁରିକ ଏସିଡ ହେଲେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୨]^[୩] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ ବା ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ (injected into a vein) ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୩]

ଆଲୋପ୍ୟୁରିନଲ ପାଟିରେ ନେଲେ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଗଲୁ ଓ ରାସ ହୋଇପାରେ । ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ଆକାରରେ ନେଲେ ବାନ୍ତି (vomiting) ଓ ବୃକ୍‌କ ସମସ୍ୟା (kidney problems) ଆଦି ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୩] ଆକ୍ୟୁଟ ଗାଉଟର ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦିଆଯାଏନାହିଁ କିନ୍ତୁ ପରେ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ ।^[୨] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଏହା ଶିଶୁର କ୍ଷତି କରିବା ଜଣାଯାଇନଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହାର ଅଧିକ ଅନୁଶୀଳନ ହୋଇନାହିଁ ।^[୪] ଏହା ଜାନ୍ଥିନ ଅକ୍ସିଡେଜ ଇନହିବିଟର (xanthine oxidase inhibitor) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏକ ଔଷଧ । ^[୩]

ସନ ୧୯୬୬ରେ ଆଲୋପ୍ୟୁରିନଲ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୩] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।^[୫] ଏହା ଜେନେରିକ ଔଷଧ ନାମରେ (generic medication) ବିକ୍ରୟ ହୁଏ ।^[୩] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ (developing world) ଏହି ଔଷଧର ଏକ ମାସର ଡୋଜର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୦.୮୧ରୁ ୩.୪୨ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।^[୬] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହାର ଏକ ମାସ ଡୋଜର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୨୫ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାରରୁ କମ୍ ।^[୭]
