ଅକ୍ସାସିଲିନ, ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ବ୍ୟାକ୍ଟୋସିଲ୍, ହେଉଛି ଏକ ଆଣ୍ଟିବାୟୋଟିକ୍ ଯାହା ଷ୍ଟ୍ରାଫିଲୋକୋକାଲ୍ ସଂକ୍ରମଣର ଚିକିତ୍ସା ତଥା ପ୍ରତିରୋଧ ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହୁଏ ।^[୧] ଏଥିରେ ଚର୍ମ, ଶ୍ୱାସକ୍ରିୟା, ପରିସ୍ରା ଏବଂ ରକ୍ତ ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ ।^[୧] ଏହା ଏକ ଶିରା କିମ୍ବା ମାଂସପେଶୀରେ ଇଞ୍ଜେକ୍ସନ ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧]

ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଇଞ୍ଜେକ୍ସନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଦାହ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଆନାଫାଇଲକ୍ସିସ୍ ଏବଂ କ୍ଲୋଷ୍ଟ୍ରିଡିଅମ ଡିଫିସିଲ ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ସହିତ କ୍ଷତିର କୌଣସି ପ୍ରମାଣ ନାହିଁ, ଯଦିଓ ଏହିପରି ବ୍ୟବହାର ଭଲ ଭାବରେ ଅଧ୍ୟୟନ କରାଯାଇ ନାହିଁ ।^[୨] ଏହା ପେନିସିଲିନ ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଔଷଧ ।^[୧]

ଅକ୍ସାସିଲିନ ୧୯୬୦ ମସିହାରେ ପେଟେଣ୍ଟ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯୬୨ରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ଅନୁମୋଦିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୩] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ୨ ଗ୍ରାମ ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ୧୦ ମାତ୍ରା ଔଷଧର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୨୦୨୧ ମସିହା ସୁଦ୍ଧା ପ୍ରାୟ ୪୫ ଡଲାର ଥିଲା ।^[୪] ୩୯ଟି ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ୨୦୧୭ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ୬ଟି ଦେଶରେ ଉପଲବ୍ଧ ଥିଲା ।^[୫]
