ଆନାଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ ଏକ ସାଂଘାତିକ ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ଯାହା ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ ଓ ଏଥି ଯୋଗୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ହୋଇପାରେ । [୧][୨] ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ଭାବରେ ଏହା ଏକାଧିକ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରେ ଯଥା:- ଗଲୁକାରୀ ରାସ୍, ଜିଭ ଓ ଗଳା ଫୁଲିଯିବା, ଛୋଟ ଛୋଟ ଶ୍ୱାସକ୍ରିୟା, ବାନ୍ତି, ମୁଣ୍ଡ ହାଲୁକା ଲାଗିବା ଓ ନିମ୍ନ ରକ୍ତଚାପ । ଏହି ଲକ୍ଷଣ କିଛି ମିନିଟରୁ କିଛି ଘଣ୍ଟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ । [୩]

ଏହି ରୋଗ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ପୋକ କାମୁଡ଼ା ଓ ନାହୁଡ଼ ମରା, ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଓ ଔଷଧ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ଯୋଗୁ ହୁଏ । ବ୍ୟାୟାମ ଓ ଲେଟେକ୍ସ ସଂସ୍ପର୍ଷ ଯୋଗୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ହୁଏ । କୌଣସି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ କାରଣ ନ ଥାଇ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ହୋଇପାରେ ।[୩] ଇମ୍ମ୍ୟୁନୋଲୋଜିକ ବା ଅଣ‌-ଇମ୍ମ୍ୟୁନୋଲୋଜିକ ପ୍ରଣାଳୀରେ କେତେକ ଶ୍ୱେତ ରକ୍ତ କଣିକାରୁ ନିର୍ଗତ ମେଡିଏଟର ଯୋଗୁ ଏହି ରୋଗ ହୁଏ ।[୪] ଆଲର୍ଜେନ ସଂସ୍ପର୍ଷରେ ଆସିବା ପରେ ଉପସ୍ଥାପିତ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଓ ଚିହ୍ନ ଦେଖି ଏହି ରୋଗ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କରାଯାଏ ।[୩]

ଏହି ରୋଗରେ ସର୍ବ ପ୍ରଥମେ ମାଂସପେଶୀରେ ଏପିନେଫ୍ରିନ ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ଦିଆଯାଏ, ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ତରଳ ପଦାର୍ଥ ଦିଆଯାଏ ଓ ସଳଖ ଭାବରେ ରୋଗୀକୁ ରଖାଯାଏ । [୩][୫] ଅଧିକ ଏପିନେଫ୍ରିନ ଡୋଜ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ହୋଇପାରେ । ଆଣ୍ଟିହିସ୍ଟାମିନ, ଓ ସ୍ଟିରଏଡ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ସ‌ହିତ ଦେବାକୁ ପଡ଼େ । ଆନାଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ ଇତିହାସ ଥିଲେ ବେମାରୀର କାରଣ ଖୋଜିବାକୁ ହୁଏ ଓ ଏପିନେଫ୍ରିନ ଅଟୋଇଞ୍ଜେକ୍ଟର ଦିଆଯାଏ ।[୩]

ପୃଥିବୀର ୦.୦୫–୨% ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନର ଯେ କୌଣସି ସମୟରେ ଏହି ରୋଗ ହୁଏ । ଏହି ରୋଗ ହାର ବଢ଼ିବା ଦେଖାଯାଉଛି ।[୬] ଯୁବା ବୟସରେ ଓ ମହିଳାମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ଏହା ଅଧିକ ଦେଖାଯାଏ ।[୫][୭] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହି ରୋଗ ଯୋଗୁ ଆଡମିସନ ହେଉଥିବା ରୋଗୀଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ୦.୩% ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ବରଣ କରନ୍ତି ।[୮] ଏହି ଆନାଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ ଶବ୍ଦଟି ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଗ୍ରୀକ ଶବ୍ଦ: ἀνά ଆନା ଅର୍ଥ "ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ" ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଗ୍ରୀକ ଶବ୍ଦ: φύλαξις ଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ ଅର୍ଥ "ସୁରକ୍ଷା" ଆସିଛି ।[୯]
