ବିଶ୍ୱ ପରିବେଶ ଦିବସ

ବିଶ୍ୱ ପରିବେଶ ଦିବସ (ଇଂରାଜୀରେ World Environment Day), ସଂକ୍ଷେପରେ (WED) ଜୁନ ମାସ ୫ ତାରିଖ ଦିନ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଏ। ପରିବେଶପ୍ରତି ସକାରାତ୍ମକ ଜନ ଜାଗ୍ରତି ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିବା ଏହି ଦିବସ ପାଳନର ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ। ଏହି ଦିବସ ପାଳନ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରସଂଘର ପରିବେଶ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ (United Nations Environment Programme - UNEP)ର ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ।

ଏହିଦିନ ମାନବୀୟ ପରିବେଶକୁ ନେଇ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରସଂଘର ପ୍ରଥମ ବୈଠକ (United Nations Conference on the Human Environment) ବସିଥିଲା। ଏହା ୫ରୁ ୧୬ ଜୁନ ୧୯୭୨ ଯାଏ ଚାଲିଥିଲା। ଏହା ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରସଂଘର ଆସେମ୍ବ୍ଲି (United Nations General Assembly)ଦ୍ୱାରା ୧୯୭୨ରେ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ପ୍ରଥମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ପରିବେଶ ଦିବସ ୧୯୭୩ରେ ପାଳିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ଏହା ପରଠାରୁ ୧୯୭୧ ମସିହାର ଜୁନ ୫ର ସପ୍ତାହକୁ ମନେ ପକାଇଏହି ଦିନଟି ବିଶ୍ୱର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ସହରରେ ପ୍ରତିବର୍ଷ ଏକ ନୂଆ ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁକୁ ନେଇ ପାଳନ କରା ଯାଇଥାଏ। ଏହି ଦିନ ଉତ୍ତର ଗୋଲାର୍ଦ୍ଧରେ ବସନ୍ତ ଋତୁଥାଏ ଓ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଗୋଲାର୍ଦ୍ଧରେ ବର୍ଷା।
