ଯୁକ୍ଲିଡୀୟ ଜ୍ୟାମିତି ଅନୁସାରେ ଚତୁର୍ଭୁଜ ହେଉଛି, ଚାରି 'ବାହୁ' ଓ ଚାରି 'କୋଣ' ଥିବା ଏକ ବହୁଭୂଜ । ଏହା ସରଳ (କୌଣସି ବାହୁ ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ଛେଦ କରିନଥାନ୍ତି) କିମ୍ବା ଜଟିଳ (କୌଣସି ଦୁଇ ବାହୁ ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ଛେଦ କରିଥାନ୍ତି) ହେଇପାରେ । ସରଳ ଚତୁର୍ଭୁଜ, ଉତ୍ତଳ କିମ୍ବା ଅବତଳ ହେଇପାରେ ।
