ପେଚା ଏକ ନିଶାଚର ପକ୍ଷୀ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ପକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କ ତୁଳନାରେ ପେଚାର ମସ୍ତିଷ୍କ ଏବଂ ଆଖି ସାମନାକୁ ଥାଏ,ଠେକୁଆ ପରି କର୍ଣଦ୍ୱୟ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରହିଥାଏ । ଏମାନେ ଆଣ୍ଟାର୍କଟିକା ବ୍ୟତୀତ ସବୁସ୍ଥାନରେ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳନ୍ତି ଓ ଏମାନଙ୍କର ପାଖାପାଖି ୨୦୦ ପ୍ରଜାତି ଅଛନ୍ତି । ପେଚା ମାନେ ଦୂର –ଦର୍ଶୀ ଅଟନ୍ତି ଅର୍ଥାତ ଆଖିର ନିକଟତର ଜିନିଷ ଦେଖିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଂ ଏତଦବ୍ୟତୀତ ଦ୍ଵିତ-କର୍ଣୀ ଅର୍ଥାତ କୌଣସି ଶବ୍ଦକୁ ବୁଝିବା ବା ଦିଗ ନିର୍ଣୟ କରିବାପାଇଁ ଦୁଇକର୍ଣ ଏକ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି ।
