ଗ୍ରାମ୍-ବିରୋଧୀ ବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରୀଆଙ୍କର ଏକ ମୁଖ୍ଯ ପର୍ବ ପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆ ଅଟେ । ଏଥିରେ ବହୁ ପ୍ରକାରର ରୋଗକାରୀ ବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରୀଆ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯଥା - ଇଶ୍ଚେରିଚିଆ ସାଲ୍ମୋନେଲା, ଭିବ୍ରିଓ, ହେଲିକୋବ୍ୟାକ୍ଟର, ୟର୍ସିନିଆ, ଲେଜିଓନେଲେଲ, ଇତ୍ଯାଦି ଇତ୍ଯାଦି ।[୧୦] ଅନ୍ୟଗୁଡ଼ିକ ମୁକ୍ତ-ଅଣପରଜୀବୀ ବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରୀଆ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଯବକ୍ଷାରଜାନ ବିବନ୍ଧନ ମଧ୍ଯ କରିଥାନ୍ତି ।

କାର୍ଲ ଓଏସ ୧୯୮୭ ମସିହାରେ ଏହି ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ କରିଥିଲେ । ସେ ଏହାକୁ "ବାଇଗଣୀ ବୀଜାଣୁ ଏବଂ ତା'ର ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀ" ବୋଲି ନାମ ଦେଇଥିଲେ ।[୧୧] ଏହି ପର୍ବରେ ବହୁପ୍ରକାରର ଜୀବରୂପ ମିଳୁଥିବାରୁ ଏହାକୁ ଗ୍ରୀକ୍ ଦେବତା ପ୍ରୋଟିଅସଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ନାମିତ । ଏହା ପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆ ପ୍ରଜାତି ପ୍ରୋଟିଓସର ନାମରେ ନାମିତ ନୁହେଁ ।[୧][୧୨]

କିଛି ଆଲ୍ଫାପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆ ଖୁବ୍ କମ୍ ସ୍ତରର ପୋଷକ ପଦାର୍ଥରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ବଢ଼ି ପାରନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଏହାଙ୍କର ଅସାଧାରଣ ବାହ୍ୟଗଠନ ରହିଥାଏ । କେତେକ ବୀଜାଣୁ କୃଷିଭିତ୍ତିକ ମହତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଅଟନ୍ତି । ଏଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଉଦ୍ଭିଦ ସହ ସହଜୀବୀ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରି ଯବକ୍ଷାରଜାନ ବିବନ୍ଧନ କରିଥାନ୍ତି । ଏହି ପର୍ବର ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ଗଣ ହେଉଛି କୌଲବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରାଲ୍ସ । ଏଥିରେ ଷ୍ଟକ ଥିବା କୌଲବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟର ରହିଛି । ସୁନ୍ଯଷ୍ଟୀୟକମାନଙ୍କର ମାଇଟୋକଣ୍ଡ୍ରିଆଟି ଆଲ୍ଫାପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆର ବଂଶଜ ବୋଲି ଧରାଯାଏ ।[୧୩]

ବିଟାପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆମାନେ ଚୟାପଚୟ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ବହୁ ପ୍ରକାରର ଯଥା - କେମୋଲିଥୋସ୍ୱଭୋଜୀ, ଫୋଟୋସ୍ୱୋଭୋଜୀ, ଏବଂ ପରଭୋଜୀ । ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ଗଣ - ବୁର୍ଖୋଲ୍ଡେରିଏଲ । ଏଥିରେ ଅନେକ ସୁବିଧାବାଦୀ ଜୀବାଣୁ ରହିଛନ୍ତି ।

ଡେଲ୍ଟାପ୍ରୋଟିଓବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରିଆରେ ଅନ୍ୟ ବ୍ଯାକ୍ଟେରୀଆଙ୍କୁ ଶିକାର କରୁଥିବା ବୀଜାଣୁ ରହିଛନ୍ତି । ଏମାନେ ଅବାୟବିକ ଗନ୍ଧକଚକ୍ରର ଏକ ମୁଖ୍ଯ ଯୋଗଦାନକାରୀ । ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ଗଣ - ମିକ୍ଜୋକୋକେଲ । ଏଥିରେ ମିକ୍ଜୋକୋକସ ପରି ସ୍ୱସଂଗଠନ ଗୁଣ ଥିବା ବୀଜାଣୁ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ ।
