We are piloting this template using different redirects, to track page views of links from different groups of articles (see discussion at WP:Research help/Proposal). The template should be inserted in the correct reference section above {{reflist}} or <reference/> and below ==References==, ==Footnotes== or ==Works cited== . Note that this template is a temporary template, for use during the pilot of the page

The template requires a variable, to indicate which tracking redirect is being used in order to study if the links are effective at driving interest in the page. The following variables are currently available; feel free to create more:

Please avoid changing the template values. These parameter values do not mean that the subject of the article is primarily medical, military, or Wikipedia. Instead, they exist only as accurate indicators of why the article was originally tagged.

Generic usage

If you add the template to a page that is not part of the WikiProject-based research, please use only the "Gen" variable. Add the template like this: {{Research help|Gen}}. This redirects through WP:Research help/Gen and displays as:
